Other related initiatives are in progress
At national level, funds from several sources to be obtained (scientific
projects, R&D program for components, ship time
) to implement local sites.
At international level (for instance Mediterranean tsunami warning system under
the umbrella of IOC).
The Deep Sea Floor Frontier initiative aims to develop a major coordinated
European research and technology effort on deep sea floor science. Deep-SF
initiative is approaching European Commission to benefit from Article 169 to
integrate national programs.
A first step has already been initiated by the constitution of national
groups within ESONET Network of Excellence
